Masterclass: Character

‘This will be absolutely wonderful. Cath Crowley is an extraordinary writer and teacher and Alison Arnold is one of the best editors I’ve worked with. Treat yourself!’ Sally Rippin

Join two-time PM's-Literary-Award-winner Cath Crowley and 'The Rosie Project' editor Alison Arnold for a masterclass on Character.

Discover how Cath — 'one of Australia’s best writers of young adult fiction', The Australian — finds and creates such memorable characters. Discuss the writing of character from an editor’s perspective: common pitfalls, cliché, sameness, how character both adds to and detracts from the narrative engine of your novel or short story. The writing of character also applies to non-fiction and memoir writing — all welcome.

The venue is in the gorgeous gardens of CERES. Tea, coffee, and morning and afternoon tea are provided. Bring your own lunch and picnic under a tree or buy it from the Merri Table on site.

All levels of experience are catered for. Don't be shy if you're just getting started.

‘Creative workshop from the dream-team. Treat yourself to some inspiration, nurturing, and practical industry know-how.’
