Mentorships for writers

We help writers untangle plots, strengthen characters and get stories on the page. It’s what we’re good at. It’s what we love to do.

Mentorships give you invaluable help with the craft and business of writing. Not only do you receive the encouragement needed, you’ll also get one-on-one teaching that answers your questions on structure, characterisation, dialogue, plot and language. We’re published writers and experts in our fields of fiction, non-fiction, YA, script and screenwriting, so we know how to recognise the pitfalls before you do.

A one-on-one intensive will improve your thinking, refine your idea, strengthen your plot outline, and raise your manuscript, script or screenplay to the next level.

Mentorships can be conducted via phone, Skype or in person. They can be ongoing, or a single in-depth session to give you the clarity that launches a courageous next draft.

Mentorships costs are $140 per hour (for both reading your work & meeting time).

cath crowley

For fiction & YA

“When I was doing my Professional Writing diploma, I had the utter privilege of being taught by Cath Crowley. On the simplest level it was a privilege because she’s generous and engaged. I mean really generous. Like, How do you have time to write? generous. But she’s also – in love with words. I don’t know how else to put it, even though that makes me pause and think, Well aren’t all writers? But she is besotted, enthralled, inquisitive, patient. In love, in love.”
