Mini retreat
Lake House, Daylesford

19–20 May 2019

On launching our first Writing and Wellness Retreat in Daylesford, we received many requests for something that was a little shorter and a little more affordable. With that in mind, we’re thrilled to offer a mini retreat for those writers in need of nurturing, but short on time.

This retreat won’t be short on decadence, and we’ve included the highlights from our longer retreat so you’ll leave feeling reset and restored.

The retreat will be a balance of:

·       Writing. Map, write and journal your way to an understanding of how writing can enhance your wellbeing.

·       Good conversation with like-minded people. We spend time talking about what it is to live a creative life, what works and what needs adjustment.

·       Incredible food! The Two Chefs Hats Lake House restaurant is famed for its seasonal menu. We knew the food would be good when we first went, but actually we had no idea. In early spring we ate poached quinces and a winter fruit compote. The beef melted in our mouths. We wished they would sell us their bread. The vegetarian tart with a celeriac side was the best thing Ali has ever eaten.

·       Time. To enjoy your luxury waterfront room with a view over the lake and a balcony for reading. To enjoy the six acres of garden sloping down to the lake. To enjoy a cup of tea in the Argyle Library and read the paper. The infinity pool will be ready by autumn—bring your bathers and be brave. There is also a hot tub at the Salus Spa, a tennis court, and a walking track around gorgeous Lake Daylesford.

Inclusions:

  • 1 night in a luxury Lake House room—king-sized bed, crisp sheets, artworks by Allan Wolf-Tasker. (It’s usually $800+ to stay so they’ve put together a wonderful package for us.)

  • Three-course a la carte dinner, with a glass of wine.

  • Breakfast, morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea the following day.

  • All tuition and materials for our day of mapping, writing and talking about living creative lives and ways to do this better: with less guilt, and more happiness and connection, and—dare we say it?—more exercise.

Price: $1250
2 early bird spots are available: $950

The spa
The Salus Spa at the Lake House is deservedly award-winning. Having a treatment there is not part of the mini retreat price, but, if you can, spoil yourself. Here is the SPA MENU. It is open on Sunday 10-5, Monday 10-6. Book directly with the spa, preferably a month or two in advance.
